In Sacrifice, the eye emerges as the central symbolic element — the ancient mirror of the soul, and one of the most universal archetypes of human perception and meaning. Positioned at the upper right as a dominant focal point, it becomes both witness and gateway. The abstract-expressionist field behind it is not background décor but the foundation of the artist’s automatist process, where unconscious gesture precedes interpretation, and the mind deciphers meaning only afterward. Through this method, countless dream-like beings and symbolic fragments surface, awaiting discovery through careful viewing. One of the key layers of interpretation lies in how audiences project their own symbolic systems and personal mythologies onto the work, suggesting that automatist creation may channel content from the collective unconscious. To the left of the eye, a barely visible, faceless figure crouches, lifting another eye toward a distant, planet-like sphere, while below a bubble-like boundary separates reality from dream, interior world from exterior world. Near the lower central region, a serpent hissing beside an apple evokes ancient mythic associations, uniting known and unknown worlds. The composition thus orbits three interconnected forces: sight, offering, and threshold — ultimately inviting viewers not to decode the image, but to recognize themselves within it.
