LaceLand
LaceLand explores the tension between intimacy and distance through the recurring presence of lace layered over the female figure.
The lace is not used as decoration. It functions as a protective boundary—a visual filter between the viewer and the subject. The body remains visible, yet never fully accessible.
By interrupting the direct gaze, the works invite a slower form of observation. What is hidden becomes as important as what is revealed. The lace transforms the figure from an object of observation into a presence carrying memory, vulnerability, dignity, and mystery.
Rather than concealing the body, LaceLand questions how we approach it. The series explores whether true connection begins not with possession or understanding, but with the willingness to approach what remains partly unknown.
